Our Mission in Action

The mission of the Eller African American Honorary is to advocate and advance the black community at the Eller College of Management through leadership with a focus on professional development, service and community.

Professional development

Professional development is vital to success after graduation for any major and any career path. In order for our members to be prepared for potential job/internship interviews, we host several resume and interviewing workshops throughout the year. We also host workshops on LinkedIn, communication skills, and diversity in the work place. These workshops are designed to give our members an opportunity to prepare themselves for success in their future careers.

service

Always give back to the community. EAAH is dedicated to serving the Tucson Community through volunteer work and community outreach. We believe it is important to help the communities around the university reach their goals, because their progress is as necessary as ours. Each year our club participates in Eller's Make a Difference Day event to kick off the year of service activities. In the Spring of 2016, we launched our series of "Major Keys" Workshops, which are designed to help high school students transition successfully from high school to college. Our goal is to make a positive impact on the University of Arizona, on Tucson, and on every member of those communities that we have the opportunity to engage with.

community

Service and community go hand in hand. At our annual awards dinner, our club takes the time to recognize members of the Tucson Community who embody the ideals we believe in. Outside of our awards dinner, we make sure to stay engaged with community organizations like the Tucson Urban League, Jack n Jill of America, and the Tucson Unified School District. Our involvement with these organizations gives our members the opportunity to learn from people outside of the University of Arizona and create relationships that will keep them connected to Tucson long after graduation.
